About the job/role

Reporting to the Finance Manager the [Senior FP&A Analyst] will report to the Finance Manager and will bring your technical know-how and ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels. You will be responsible for financial planning and providing day to day finance support to the Ad Sales team and  Chief Commercial Officer.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

  • Prepare monthly management reporting, variance analysis and commentary for presentation to senior management
  • Manage revenue recognition, monitor the month end close process and work with accounting teams to identify and resolve issues
  • Build and implement processes to capture data from various systems and build data models to underpin reporting and dashboards
  • Develop accounting processes, journal entries and work papers to support new business activities
  • Work with the sales team to monitor and report on the sales pipeline
  • Support the budgeting and forecasting cycle through the development and maintenance of budget and forecast models in excel
  • Analyse the impact of business investments and deals, including developing and maintaining models to track return on investment
  • Support management with analysis and other projects as required
  • Support quarterly review and year-end audit activities of external auditors

Qualifications

What You'll Bring:

  • Experience in an analytical role, or other relevant experience with accounting, financial analysis, and business planning
  • Post-secondary degree (with focus in Accounting, Business, Finance), or accounting designation required
  • Proficient with financial modeling techniques and strong analytical and data gathering skills
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles, including proficiency working with journal entries and accounting work papers, and application of accounting standards
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a proven ability to interact with all levels of management
  • Proficiency/advanced skills with Excel are essential. Exposure to Power Query, Tableau, Power BI, Excel Macros, VBA considered an asset
  • Advertising or Media industry experience and/or experience working with sales teams considered an asset
  • Exposure to Salesforce or Google Ad Manager platforms considered an asset
