The Role

WildBrain Spark is looking for a Senior Front-End Developer to join our Technology Team.

What You Will Do:

  • Supporting management in architecting new business solutions.
  • Making decisions on the direction of front-end developer.
  • Carrying out code reviews and finalising builds for QA and Deployment.
  • Mentoring junior colleagues.
  • Responsible for implementing and enforcing good standards and practices at all times.
  • Dedication to quality code with commitment to testing and continuous improvement.
  • Keeping up to date with emerging web technologies and application development techniques specially when it comes to SPA development.
  • Developing a suite of components that can be used across multiple web applications.
  • Taking feedback from the business and translating these into tickets to keep improving the usability of web applications.
  • Evolve Web Applications to keep pace with continuously improving backend capabilities and new business/client requirements.
  • Using task management applications such as JIRA to aid in managing your work load across numerous projects.
  • Breaking down business requirements into actionable tickets to be carried out by the team.


What You Will Bring:  

  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript.
  • Thorough understanding of React.js and its core principles.
  • Experience with popular React.js data flows such as Flux or Redux.
  • Knowledge of isomorphic ReactJS is a must.
  • Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools including Unit Testing
  • Experience with common front-end development tools such as Babel, Webpack and NPM
  • Excellent general development skills and familiarity with modern javascript development practices. Ideally, this would include experience with version control, unit testing, continuous integration and code quality tools such as eslint / jshint
  • Qualified applicants must be legally authorised for employment in the United Kingdom and will not require employer-sponsored work authorisation now or in the future
  • Competent and engaging in working as part of a team
  • Has an entrepreneurial work ethic and likes problem solving
  • Has a minimum of 2 years’ work experience and a proven track record with ReactJS (existing projects on GitHub or elsewhere is beneficial)
  • Ideally has experience of building applications in the digital video and/or online advertising industry (a benefit)
  • Has the mindset to document work flows, codebase and write tests from the get-go
  • Has experience using technologies such as Yarn, Node, Jest/Tape, Mongo and MySQL
  • Has experience using file versioning tools such as GitHub, SVN
  • Has experience using authentication processes such as JWT and the oAuth2 protocol
